Tim is not your average Pro Skater, he is a specialists in freestyle flatland skateboarding. So what is flatland boarding? Continue reading to learn more about this special type of professional skateboarding, but to really experience it you just have to be there.
What is freestyle flatland skateboarding?
Freestyle flatland is one of the more technical and difficult forms of skateboarding. As a one man show Tim can easily rattle out over 50 tricks. Only missing maybe one or two tricks, that is probably more tricks actually landed by one guy than an entire skate team. Freestyle is also more personable and mobile and can be performed on an indoor stage in front of 20,000 people or on the ground outside in front of 50 people.

Who is Tim Byrne?
I grew up in rural Missouri in a small town called Rolla. I am the youngest of four and came from a good family that loved me very much. My first life changing event happened when I was 14 years old. I stood on my first skateboard and from that day the world around me evaporated and all my energy was focused on this toy with 4 wheels. I spent every free hour just riding back and fourth in front of my house. Skating was my lifeline to a world much bigger than the confines of my small town.
I remember my dedication increased after I watched my first skateboard movie “Gleaming the Cube” and witnessed Rodney Mullen's command of the skateboard. I didn’t know anything about freestyle skating but knew I wanted to skate like him. I then decided to spend four hours everyday learning new tricks.
